ABOUT US

The Joshua George Rios Memorial Softball Tournament was created to honor the life and legacy of Joshua George Rios by bringing people together through the game he loved. What started as a way to remember and celebrate Joshua has grown into an annual tradition that unites teams, families, and communities from across South Texas.

Now, after years of success, this tournament is more than just competition... It’s about community, connection, and purpose. Each year, participants gather not only to play, but to support one another, share memories, enjoy a fun day of ball, and continue a legacy built on faith, respect, and heart.

In addition to the tournament, we are committed to giving back by supporting local initiatives and providing opportunities like scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing higher education.

Through this event, Joshua’s memory lives on by bringing people together, making an impact, and inspiring the next generation.

A MESSAGE FROM US

From the very beginning, this tournament has meant more to us than just a game. It’s a way to honor Joshua George Rios, to keep his memory alive, and to bring people together in a way that reflects who he was, what he stood for, and how we will always remember him... just a boy with big dreams.

Each year, we are reminded of the incredible support from our community. The players, families, sponsors, and friends who show up, not just to compete, but to be part of something truly meaningful. Your presence, energy, and continued support are what make this event so special.

As we move forward, our goal remains the same: to create an event that brings people together, gives back, and leaves a lasting impact. Whether you’re stepping onto the field, cheering from the stands, or simply just sharing our social media posts, you are part of this legacy and we will forever be grateful.

To end this, we'd like to share something that Joshua once said and lived by, "I trust God with my life. After all, He gave it to me." To remind himself of this, Joshua handmade a wood project of this and had it hanging on his wall... where it still can be found today.

From all of us, thank you. As always, #LiveLikeJosh.
